7-week course launches July 11

Postdoc Academy: Building Skills for a Successful Career

Registration is now open for the second online course from the Postdoc Academy. The “Postdoc Academy: Building Skills for a Successful Career” is a seven-week course launching Monday, July 11 on edX.

The course will help postdocs build foundational professional skills to launch them into their desired career pathway. Themes and topics explored include leadership, building and supervising a team, project management, applying teaching skills beyond the classroom, strategic communications, and preparing job application materials.

Postdoc Academy will also be offering live discussions at different points in the course to engage and network with professionals from various fields, announced closer to the start of the course.

*Postdocs are encouraged NOT to pay for the optional upgrade offered by EdX. A certificate of completion will be awarded FREE of charge by the Postdoc Academy. You do not need to pay to receive a certificate.

All sessions will be online via Zoom until further notice.

The “Learn – Discover – Lead” seminar series is designed to provide practical advice for PhD and dual degree scientists, who will be managing and leading research teams of their own.  The target audience is graduate students, combined degree students, postdoctoral research trainees, and junior faculty, but everyone who may benefit from these seminars is welcome to attend!
