Grad Edge is a Professional Development initiative co-developed by COM Graduate Student Affairs (COM-GSA), the Medical Graduate Student Organization (MGSO), and UF CTSI Office of Biomedical Research Career Development (OBRCD). Grad Edge is designed to support Health Sciences graduate students in exploring career options, building job-ready portfolios, and preparing for success beyond graduate school. Grad Edge provides flexible, targeted resources to help you move forward, whether you’re just starting to explore or actively preparing for the job market. Unless otherwise noted, all events are open to all graduate students and postdocs.

Professional Skill Webinars

The “Learn-Discover-Lead” virtual panels and sessions will focus on professional skills needed to support career success, including collaboration, communication, leadership, mentoring, personal growth, research management, teaching, and writing. Designed to provide practical advice for graduate students, everyone who will be managing and leading research teams of their own, including postdoctoral trainees, research staff and junior faculty, are welcome to attend!

Professional Skill Workshops

These in-person hand-on practical workshops will help to customize core materials and strengthen professional skills that support many health science career paths. Lunch will be provided, and attendance limited to 30 participants. Pre-registration is required.
