Jan 18 09:30am - Jan 18 11:30am

Inclusive Teaching Strategies: Awareness, Reflection, and Action (Part 1) Presented by Sindia Rivera-Jimenez Inclusive practices are critical to the higher education landscape to improve student learning. Inclusive teaching means designing and teaching courses in ways that foster talent in all students, but especially those who come from groups traditionally underrepresented in higher education. In this two-part workshop, participants will get familiarized with important concepts of diversity equity and inclusion, and the role of teaching methods in embracing student diversity in all forms. Also, attendees will discuss practical strategies of inclusive teaching that can be incorporated into everyday student interactions and during course design and assessment. Tuesday, January 18 from 9:30am – 11:30am via Zoom.
