Fall 2021 Postdoc Writing Program – Apply Now
The Fall Writing Program is open to all UF Postdocs and will include a weekly Virtual Writing Retreat & Writing Support Group, with one instructional workshop per month. Writers are strongly encouraged to attend all writing and instructional sessions to stay on track with writing goals and contribute to peer accountability structures.
- Virtual Writing Retreats & Writing Support Group – Every Thursday 2-4pm
- How to Develop a Writing Habit – Sept. 9th 2-4pm
- Essentials of Peer Review workshop – Oct. 14th 2-4pm
- Science Writing for Broad Audiences – Nov. 11th 2-4pm
(Workshops will replace weekly writing retreats, and will include time for writing)
JoLS Virtual Postdoc Symposium Call for Abstracts – October 28th – 29th
Call for Abstracts for the upcoming postdoc symposium, sponsored by the National Postdoc Association, NPA., and hosted on a virtual platform by JoLS, Journal of Life Sciences, a Postdoc community initiative, run entirely by postdocs.
The goals of the symposium are two-fold: 1. To highlight and showcase postdocs’ contributions to ongoing research and development across disciplines, and 2. To recognize postdoc mentors’ efforts in training the the next generation of leaders in research and academia. Early bird registration just opened-up.
Symposium participation is open to former and future postdocs as well.
Resource Spotlight: GRAPES: Graduate and Postdoc Funding Search Engine
The University of California, Los Angeles hosts GRAPES, a search engine for graduate and postdoc funding. Students from any university may search for awards from among 625 scholarships, grants, fellowships, and postdoctoral awards.
Searches may be narrowed by amount, academic level, award type, citizenship status, and more. GRAPES is free-to-search for applicants to any graduate program, to graduate students working on a master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation, and to postdoc scholars.

K College is a monthly seminar series that provides support, opportunities and resources for career development in clinical and translational research.
This seminar series ranges from life-work balance to identifying core facilities available to Scholars. It provides peer support and opportunities to raise issues of concern and discuss need for resources to support career development in clinical & translational research. The target audience is early stage investigators, pre and post doctoral researchers
